I tried on this gorgeous dress, I KNEW she was mine.

The first time I tried on this gorgeous @kittendamour dress I KNEW she was mine !

Why?

💕 Because of how she made me feel – radiant, powerful, sexy!

💕 Because of how she made me look – curvy, sensual, like a mermaid!

💕 Because of the story of how she came to be in my possession!

I am a trans woman.

Changing gender identity has not been easy.

There are SO many challenges to overcome – physical, social, psychological.  (I talk about this in my speech “How I Made a Woman !” in which I equate making a woman like baking a cake !  What ARE the ingredients?  What IS the recipe !?)

But there are joys too, many joys.

One of them has been that I got to create a brand new wardrobe from scratch, so my wardrobe now is largely intentional, & not full of crap !

Embracing fashion as a trans woman has been a journey of discovering my unique style, my designers, colours, fabrics, & celebrating the beauty of shape & form & silhouette & textures that delights me, feels amazing on my body, & truly reflects who I am & how I want to show up in the world.

But early on in my transition, just after I’d come out, I had little to wear.

I didn’t know where to shop, what to buy, what sizes would fit or styles to choose.

But I knew about Kitten d’Amour.

So this wonderful Kitten dress has a story.

The girls in the Sydney boutique were just so amazingly kind to me.

They made me feel feminine, sexy, beautiful.

A woman.

I think we all had tears.

Kitten d’Amour has been part of my journey from the very beginning.

When I wear this dress I feel radiant, and having lived all my life not wanting to stand out or attract attention, in this dress I just can’t help it.

In it, II feel fabulous, just like those Kitten girls made me feel 5 years ago.

And I love it.

Love Bobbi ❤️
